What I can help with
I work with a range of issues, but my main areas of focus include:
Anxiety & Overthinking – The endless worrying, the racing mind at 3am, the “what ifs” that never seem to stop. We’ll work on understanding what’s fuelling your anxiety and finding ways to calm it, so you can finally breathe again.
Loss of Self & Life Transitions – Whether it’s menopause, children growing up, becoming a carer, or simply hitting a stage of life where everything feels different, we’ll explore what matters to you now and help you rediscover your sense of direction.
Grief & Loss – When someone or something important has gone, the world can feel empty and unfamiliar. I offer a safe, steady space where you can grieve in your own way, without needing to “be strong” for everyone else.
Low Self-Worth & People Pleasing – Always putting yourself last, feeling invisible, or never quite “good enough.” We’ll work on helping you feel more grounded, valued, and able to set boundaries without guilt.
- Other Areas I Can Support With:
Low mood, confidence, self-esteem, sleep issues, perfectionism, self-doubt, fears and phobias, habits, relationship difficulties, stress, and general overwhelm.
If you don’t see your situation listed here, but something resonates, get in touch and we can talk it through.
Anxiety & Overthinking - When Your Mind Won’t Switch Off
If you’re lying awake at 3am with your thoughts racing, you’re not alone. Anxiety has a way of making you feel like you can never quite relax – as if you’re always on high alert, waiting for the next thing to go wrong.
You might notice:
Your chest feels tight or heavy
You replay conversations or worry about what you “should” have done differently
Your mind jumps to worst-case scenarios, even when there’s no real reason
You feel restless, exhausted, or like you can’t catch a break
It’s not that you’re “weak” or “overreacting” – anxiety is your mind and body’s way of trying to keep you safe. The problem is, it’s stuck in overdrive.
In counselling, we’ll slow things down together. I’ll help you:
Understand what’s driving your anxiety (and why it feels so hard to switch off)
Learn simple, practical ways to calm your mind and body
Untangle the habits of overthinking and constant “what if” worries
Build a sense of inner steadiness, so you can feel in control again
You don’t have to live with the constant knot in your stomach or the endless cycle of worry. With the right support, anxiety can become manageable and life can feel lighter.
Grief & Loss – When Everything Feels Different
Grief isn’t just about losing someone you love – it can also come with the loss of health, identity, a relationship, or the life you thought you’d have. Whatever form it takes, grief has a way of shaking your world and leaving you feeling like you’re standing on unfamiliar ground.
You might find yourself:
Feeling numb one moment and overwhelmed the next
Struggling to explain your feelings to people who expect you to “be strong”
Wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again
Battling guilt for the things you said – or didn’t say
Exhausted from holding it together for everyone else
Grief isn’t something you “get over.” But you don’t have to go through it alone, either.
In counselling, I offer a calm, compassionate space where you can:
Talk openly about your loss without needing to protect anyone else’s feelings
Sit with the sadness, anger, or confusion without being rushed or “fixed”
Make sense of the changes in your life at your own pace
Find ways to keep going while honouring what (or who) you’ve lost
Begin to see small moments of hope again even if that feels impossible right now
You don’t have to keep pushing your feelings down or pretending you’re okay. Grief is heavy, but you don’t need to carry it by yourself.
Loss of Self & Life Transitions – When You No Longer Recognise Yourself
Maybe you’ve spent years looking after everyone else, keeping everything running, and doing what was expected. But somewhere along the way, you’ve lost sight of who you are. Now the kids are growing up, work has changed, your body feels different, or you’re simply at a stage of life where nothing feels quite the same.
You might be noticing:
A nagging sense of “Is this it?”
Feeling invisible or overlooked, even by yourself
Struggling to make decisions because you don’t know what you really want anymore
A deep tiredness from always being the dependable one
A longing to feel like you again but not knowing where to start
This isn’t about being “broken” or “failing” – it’s about reaching a point in life where the old rules no longer fit, and you’re ready for something different.
In counselling, I’ll help you:
Press pause and finally put yourself on the list
Untangle years of “shoulds” and rediscover what actually matters to you
Build confidence and a clearer sense of who you are now
Make space for your needs, not just everyone else’s
Feel more grounded, lighter, and connected to yourself again
You don’t have to keep feeling stuck or like you’re fading into the background. This can be the start of finding yourself again – and that’s something you don’t have to do alone.
Low Self-Worth & People Pleasing – When You Feel Like You’re Never Enough
You’ve spent so long putting everyone else first that you hardly notice your own needs anymore. Maybe you say “yes” when you want to say “no,” bite your tongue to keep the peace, or brush off your achievements because they “don’t really count.” Deep down, you might wonder if you’ll ever feel good enough.
You might be feeling:
Drained from always being the reliable one
Invisible, overlooked, or taken for granted
Guilty when you try to put yourself first
Stuck in a cycle of second-guessing yourself
Unsure who you are without everyone else’s expectations
This isn’t because you’re weak – it’s a pattern you’ve learned over years of keeping the peace and holding everything together. But it doesn’t have to stay this way.
In counselling, I’ll help you:
Understand where these feelings come from (and why they run so deep)
Gently untangle the guilt that comes with saying “no”
Recognise your strengths and value – even if you can’t see them right now
Build healthier boundaries without fear or conflict
Start believing you are enough, exactly as you are
You don’t have to keep disappearing into the background or living life for everyone else. With the right support, you can begin to feel seen, valued, and able to take up space in your own life.
Next steps
If this sounds like what you need, I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can talk about what’s going on for you and how counselling might help.
Why now?
You’ve probably been coping on your own for a long time – pushing through, holding it all together, telling yourself “I’ll deal with it later.” But deep down, you might already know that nothing changes until you give yourself permission to.
Whether it’s anxiety that won’t switch off, grief that feels too heavy to carry alone, feeling lost in life’s changes, or years of putting yourself last… you don’t have to keep doing this the hard way.
Counselling is a place where you can:
Lay it all down without fear of judgment
Make sense of what’s been holding you back
Find steady ground again, even if you’ve felt lost for a while
Take small, manageable steps towards feeling more like yourself
You don’t need to wait until you’re “at breaking point” to ask for help. The sooner you start, the sooner things can feel lighter.
If any of this feels familiar, this is your sign to stop coping alone. You’re allowed to reach out. You’re allowed to be supported. And you’re allowed to feel better.
