Frequently asked Questions about counselling and hypnotherapy

F.A.Q.

Counselling is a space to pause and talk honestly, without having to explain everything perfectly or be ‘sorted’ all the time. It’s not about advice or quick fixes — it’s about feeling seen, heard, and supported while you make sense of what’s going on for you.

Anything that feels important to you. That might be grief, anxiety, life changes, loss of identity, relationship issues, low self-worth or just a general sense that things aren’t quite right. You don’t need to have a clear label — we can figure it out together.

Not at all. Hypnotherapy is a gentle, focused state of relaxation — a bit like the moments just before you drift off to sleep. You’ll be aware of what’s happening and fully in control the whole time. Many people find it calming and insightful.

That really depends on you. Some people come for just a few sessions to work through something specific. Others prefer longer-term support. We’ll check in as we go to see what’s feeling helpful.

You don’t have to decide upfront. Some people feel drawn to talking therapy, others are curious about using hypnosis to explore deeper patterns. We’ll talk about what feels right for you and can adjust things as we go. Some clients choose one, some use both — there’s no set path.

Sessions are £70 and last 50 minutes.
I offer in-person sessions in Sale (M33) and Altrincham (WA15), as well as online therapy for those who prefer remote support.

I offer in-person sessions at two locations:

  • Thrive Wellbeing Hub in Sale (M33)
  • Beyond Barriers in Altrincham (WA15)

Both are calm, comfortable therapy spaces with good transport links and nearby parking.

Yes. What you share in our sessions stays between us, except in rare cases where I’m legally or ethically required to break confidentiality (for example, if someone is at serious risk). I’ll explain all of this clearly before we begin.

That’s completely okay. You’re welcome to get in touch for a short, no-pressure chat. Sometimes just having that first conversation can help you decide what feels right.
